About

Our Story

Heartland Credit Union was formed April 1, 1948 as the "Hutchinson Teachers Credit Union". The Credit Union started life with 14 members and $315.00 in assets. The original place of business was in the home of Clyde and Lela Burk at 528 E. Sherman in Hutchinson.

Fast forward to today. We've grown to many branches throughout Central Kansas, a far cry from our original home in a residence on E. Sherman Avenue. We've expanded our membership from Hutchinson teachers to communities, with over 26,000 member/owners. Over the years, other credit unions have merged into our credit union and our name has evolved to Heartland Credit Union.

Through it all, our core values and ownership have stayed the same. We're a cooperative, exclusively owned by our members. Our mission is simple: Delivering Solutions, Earning Trust, Building Relationships. That's it...that's what we do.
